As we step into the final month of the term at IBTE, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to teach in a way that lasts beyond the final exam.
This semester, I’ve had the chance to work with three unique student groups:
- Aspiring creatives in Digital Art
- Problem-solvers in Math for Computing
- Data-driven thinkers in Business Math
Each group came with its own rhythm and learning style. But what I’ve come to appreciate most is the depth that happens when students are given room to question, try, fail, and try again.
Teaching isn’t just about covering a syllabus. It’s about designing experiences that help students connect concepts to real-world thinking—and more importantly, to themselves.
Whether they’re learning to animate, simplify equations, or forecast outcomes, my role is to guide them in seeing the bigger picture: why it matters, how it connects, and where it might take them next.
To my students—let’s finish strong. And to my fellow educators—what’s something you intentionally do to bring more meaning into the classroom?
